My Monster saga

I got my first monster in the spring of 2004. It was a red 1994 M900 with a few goodies. I'd soon learn that it had been rode hard and put away wet before I ever got it. This bike didn't last but 6 months before it started falling apart, but it rode great and made good power *until it started falling apart*.

The below picture is of the rear engine mount which is cracked.

I still wanted one, but more along the lines of what I'd been lusting for and looking for trick monsters. It had to be healthy and the newer the better, but without the bozomobilzer...

This one below which I'd seen a bit on the web was very helpful with my direction

I ended up getting a 2001 M9000 chromo with 10k miles on it, DP pipes/ECU and carbon fenders. Everything else was stock.

The 1999 chromo's were nicer in that they came with a lot of extra goodies from the factory, like fully adjustable suspension, aluminum swingarm and carbon fiber bits. The 2001's were essentially the base model dark, but with a chrome tank. They did have a steel swingarm that was about 2 pounds heavier than the aluminum one.  They also had fuel injection and the newer front end and more importantly they didn't have the immobilizer in them.

This 2001 I found seemed like the perfect "clean slate" to make what I always wanted in my monster.

The below was the picture from the Ebay add of the bike I purchased in the fall of 2004. It had 10,000 miles on it and looked like new.

I started modding the hell out of it pretty quickly after that... black this shiny that, carbon something or other...

And this has been an ongoing obsession for the past few years...

These 2 below pictures were from the ECS open house in 2009. Here are some awesome pictures that were taken that day.

This was one of the most memorable days I can remember. We got to PLAY (see the holigan chart) in the streets of NYC dressed as elves (for the "elf yourself videos" . I soooo wish I'd thought to put a video camera on the bike that day!
